Heidi’s PHighters is a dedicated volunteer group whose fundraising efforts benefit the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA). PHA is committed to extending and improving the lives of those affected by Pulmonary Hypertension (PH).
In October 2018, our team captain, Heidi Schusler, received a life-threatening diagnosis: Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). From that moment, Heidi embarked on a journey marked by courage, resilience, and unwavering determination to PHight this disease with all her strength. Living with PAH is not just a physical battle; it’s a daily challenge that impacts every aspect of Heidi’s life. Yet, despite the hurdles and setbacks, Heidi’s spirit remains unbreakable. She faces each day with a smile, inspiring everyone around her with her humor and unique outlook on life.
But Heidi’s story is not just about her own struggle—it’s a rallying cry for awareness and action. As Heidi walks this journey, she carries with her the hopes and dreams of countless others affected by PAH/PH. She knows that by raising awareness and funds, we can pave the way for groundbreaking research and treatments that will one day lead us to a cure.
